Description
Actalent is seeking a Power Generation Engineer to support the development of the Navy's next generation Nuclear Power Generation Systems. It is a critical program for the Navy to ensure dominance of the seas and safety of our sailors. This role will be responsible for plans, analysis and reporting of the turbine generators.
Be responsible for supporting the design and development of the CLB IPS electrical system, including but not limited to:
• Generation and distribution of all electrical power
• Controlling systems for all power generation components
• Turbine Generator Design and development, with a focus on the Generator side
• Turbine Generator Controlling systems
• Work closely with Naval Reactors, PMS 397, The shipbuilder, and Component vendors on detailed design requirements to ensure the highest standards are maintained
• Ensure all design criteria are satisfied in the production units

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Experience:
• Have a current or active Secret clearance which is REQUIRED for consideration.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical (preferred), Mechanical, Computer, or other engineering degree or related field (Physics, for example). Extensive NAVSEA or submarine experience may replace the degree requirements.
• Minimum of three years' experience in the design of military or commercial power generation systems
Preferred:
• HIGHLY DESIRED – 5 years’ experience in the maintenance, operation and issue resolution of power generation systems.
• HIGHLY DESIRED - Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience on VIRGINA class submarines, at a Prototype or Nuclear shipyard.
• 3 years’ experience with magnetic bearings as applied to power generation systems
• 10% travel may be required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $76.92/hr.
