Tunnel Systems Engineer
Jacobs, has a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join and help grow our national tunnel and ground engineering practice. You’ll work as part of our practice consisting of over 100 engineers in North America, and over 800 globally. As a Tunnel Systems Engineer you will have the opportunity to follow projects from the conceptual phase through the construction phase, working on a variety of complex transportation projects. When you join us, you’ll be responsible for: • Design of transportation tunnel systems. • Prepare and review technical reports and data reports. • Participate in field assignments that will include observation and assessment of the various systems in a highway tunnel. • Prepare design drawings and construction specifications, and review construction submittals for compliance with the contract requirements and design assumptions. • Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams across North America. Share technical knowledge across geographical boundaries to foster innovative project solutions. The final candidate could be located in Reston, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Newport News or Hampton, Virginia. Candidate must be willing to travel to Virginia Beach or other project locations a few times a year. • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia • Substantial multidisciplined infrastructure engineering experience which could include structural, electrical or mechanical design • Experience related to the design of underground structures, buildings or water treatment plants and their associated systems. • Previous experience with design assignments for tunnels, structural systems, underground structures, buildings or water treatment plants Ideally, You’ll Also Have: • Master’s Degree in Civil Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
