The successful candidate will:
Take end‑to‑end responsibility for delivery of tax compliance and accounting services to a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with local legislation, PwC policies, and global quality standards.Lead and manage tax compliance and accounting engagements, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, payroll taxes, and other statutory filings, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.Review tax returns and related calculations, applying professional judgment to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and ensuring appropriate escalation where required.Act as the primary PwC contact for clients on tax compliance matters, maintaining strong client relationships and addressing complex technical and operational issues.Represent PwC in interactions with tax authorities, including managing audits, inspections, inquiries, and correspondence, with appropriate risk management and documentation.Monitor changes in tax legislation, regulations, and practice, assess their impact, and communicate implications to clients and internal stakeholders.Ensure high‑quality documentation and record‑keeping in line with PwC risk management, audit defense, and regulatory requirements.Coach, supervise, and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and on‑the‑job training in line with PwC people development standards.Contribute to process improvement, standardization, and efficiency initiatives within the tax compliance practice.Support practice management activities, including planning, resourcing, and managing deadlines across multiple engagements.What we are looking for
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.PMS certification is mandatory. ACCA / CIMA / CPA qualification is a strong advantage.5+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance and/or accounting, preferably within a professional services or consulting firm.Strong technical knowledge of Azerbaijan corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and payroll taxes, with the ability to apply legislation in practical business scenarios.Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and their interaction with tax compliance and reporting.Proven experience in managing tax audits and dealing with tax authorities.Excellent Azerbaijani and English language skills, both written and verbal. Russian is an advantage.Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven environment.Strong analytical, review, and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.Strong client service orientation and ability to build trusted, long‑term relationships.Experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams, consistent with PwC Manager‑level expectations.
