Job Description
A large hospital/healthcare system is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Outpatient Infectious Diseases team. This role is part of a collaborative care model involving physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and medical assistants (MAs). The RN will primarily work in an office-based setting, with most patient interactions occurring via phone, telehealth, and occasional in-person visits.
The ideal candidate will have experience in infectious diseases, infusion therapy, and transitional care coordination, and will be comfortable managing complex patient needs in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. Daily responsibilities will include; Providing clinical support for patients with complex infectious diseases, including those receiving long-term IV antibiotic therapy via PICC lines. Communicate with inpatient consult services and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care across settings. Assist with penicillin allergy testing and post-surgical drain management as part of routine ID protocols. Other responsibilities will include performing initial assessments of new patient referrals to determine appropriate care pathways (e.g., outpatient, telehealth, or in-person visits), handle high volume of calls and assist with managing the Epic inbasket.

Skills and Requirements
-Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in NJ (BSN highly preferred and mandatory if no infectious disease background
-Previous and/or recent experience working in infectious disease, infusions therapy, home infusions or med surg (primary focus post surgery) Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
Advanced HIV/AIDS Certified Registered Nurse (ACRN)
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) null
