The Treasury Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day and month-end treasury functions and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Chesapeake Hospital Authority Bank Reconciliation Reconcile Chesapeake Hospital Authority’s operating bank statement Analyze and research the following areas: Electronic deposits Medicare Medicaid Blue Cross Cashiers deposits Lockbox deposits Credit card transactions ACH and Lockbox Wire transfers Cleared checks Outstanding checks Maintain monthly spreadsheet comparing electronic deposits to actual bank deposits Coordinate with the cashiers to research discrepancies between the bank deposits and monthly cash sheet Reconcile cleared checks using the PeopleSoft financial system Record adjusting entries for posting to the General Ledger Reconcile Chesapeake Hospital Authority’s patient refund accountSubsidiary Bank Reconciliations: Analyze and research the following for reconciliation of all subsidiaries’ bank accounts: Cash receipt transactions Credit card transactions Deposits – ACH and regular Wire transfers Cleared checks Outstanding checks Record reconciling adjustments for posting to individual general ledgers and maintain files for the same
Miscellaneous Request checks from the Accounts Payable department Initiate the billing of benefits reimbursement from the subsidiaries to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center and prepare check requests for the same Assist with year-end audit preparation for cash receipts and check reconciliation related work papers Maintain unclaimed check report for all operating account and patient refund accounts for submission to the State of Virginia Perform other tasks as assigned Manage wires, positive pay and other payment reporting Assist with processing documents to open and close bank accounts Initiate and execute funds movement via wires, ACH and internal bank transfers upon receiving proper approvals Provide analytical support for forecasting and cash flow projections

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: B.S. in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university. 7+ years of same experience accepted in lieu of the degree.
Preferred Education: N/A
Experience: 3+ years as an accountant with background knowledge in treasury management
