Overview

Colorado Periodontal Group is seeking a Traveling Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our growing specialty team! This is a part-time, 2 day per week position working Wednesdays and Thursdays. In this role, you will be assisting the periodontist at two of our general dentistry clinics located in Denver and Thornton. We work with a fantastic, easy going dentist and a team that thrives on team work. This is a great opportunity to gain some hands on surgical experience and delve into the fascinating world of periodontics!

 

Our ideal Periodontal Dental Assistant will have 2 or more years of experience assisting in a perio, endo, or oral surgery specific role. Schedule: Wednesdays and Thursdays 7:45am-5pm

Rate: $24-$32/hr, plus daily bonus opportunities. Mileage reimbursement is available if locations are outside of 20 mile radius.

Responsibilities:

Provide the highest level of patient care and education while demonstrating exceptional chairside mannerReview patient charts prior to doctor arrival, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and treatmentEnsure all consent forms are completed prior to the procedureAssist the Periodontist with dental procedures using four handed dentistryAbility to take, develop, and “mount” accurate, high-quality radiographs/intra-oral photos/CT scansClean, sterilize and prepare the equipment and operatory, prior to and after a patient’s appointmentAssist with inventory and ordering of dental suppliesMaintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA complianceFollow safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens)Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environmentAssist the business administration team in scheduling patients and making post-operative calls

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience assisting in periodontics/oral surgery/endo requiredX-Ray Certification requiredActive CPR or BLS certification requiredCurrent certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia or willing to obtainCertified Dental Assistant preferred
