The HVAC Tech provides HVAC support and general maintenance tasks associated with facilities investment services contracts at Army Reserve Centers in 150 Mile radius of Charleston, WV. Company vehicle is provided.
Full Time with benefits: $25.67/hr
Full Time without benefits: $30.76/hr
Key Job Functions
Maintain and repair all types of HVAC systems and associated components, facility operations through the monitoring and repair of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, equipment, and controlsPerform the skilled journey-level work required to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain air conditioning equipment and systems & preventive and predictive maintenance on required systemsMaintain, perform preventive maintenance, and keep equipment in operating condition: chillers, cooling towers, Condensing Boilers, air compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge valves, motors, temperature and humidity controls, fans, control panels, and related componentsComplete power connectionsOrganize work by studying work orders, diagrams, specifications, drawings, and blueprints; gathering required materials;Test and repair systems by operating the systems; identifying malfunctions; repairing or replacing sealants, parts, and components.Recommend necessary spare inventory parts for emergency repairs.Provide general preventative maintenance and troubleshoot call support for non-HVAC components which could include plumbing, electrical, and carpentry requirements as well as other building systems/assetsMust be comfortable working with electrical 3 phase 480-volt power to HVAC equipmentQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on commercial heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and controls. Requires the ability to read blueprints and apply basic math. The HVAC technician must understand local electrical and HVAC codes and have a strong general mechanical aptitude. The HVAC technician must have communication/documentation skills, conceptual skills, attention to detail, and impeccable dependability as verified through references. Each complete year of an accredited college education in a related field, including vocational schooling (with an HVAC specialty), may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.Knowledge of Building automation systems , navigating and troubleshooting building HVAC equipment through the BAS graphics display screens Must be able to perform all the key job functions of the position satisfactorilyMust be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record checkMust be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigationFor positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policyMust have adequate computer and communication skillsMust be able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb/work from ladders, and walk up/down stairs with tools/partsRequired: Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.Required: Must hold an EPA Section 608 approved certificate of training (Universal) to handle refrigerants.Desired: OSHA 30-hr General Industry or Construction Safety Awareness.Desired: CPR/First Aid.Preferred: Experience with Fire protection panels and systemsPreferred: Possess and maintain a Journeyman HVAC license by the state in which they work.Additional Information
