Job Summary
Location: Travel required across New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, and Pennsylvania (some overnight travel)
As the Traveling Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring a safe, sanitary, and high-quality culinary experience across multiple accounts. This role requires flexibility, leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional foodservice in diverse healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Plan and develop regular and modified menus in accordance with established guidelines and client needs
+ Prepare or direct the preparation and presentation of meals following standardized recipes and portion standards
+ Train kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation procedures
+ Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas
+ Maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies within budget guidelines to ensure product availability
+ Monitor utilization of leftover products in compliance with company standards
+ Comply with all federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations as evidenced by health department and third-party audits
+ Follow facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures, including occurrence reporting
+ Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and professional training as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal training
+ Extensive catering experience a plus
+ High-volume and complex foodservice operations experience strongly preferred
+ Institutional and batch cooking experience
+ Hands-on chef experience required
+ Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
+ Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet applications
+ ServSafe certification strongly preferred
+ Position can be based in NY, MA or CT
