Job Description:
The Traveling Director of DeNovo Operations – Hospice is a strategic operational leader responsible for launching and stabilizing new hospice sites in support of organizational growth. This role oversees the full operational setup of DeNovo locations, including licensure support, staffing, policy implementation, technology deployment, and regulatory compliance.
Serving as the interim operational leader during launch, the Director ensures that each new site is fully aligned with corporate standards, financially and clinically sound, and equipped for long-term success. This individual plays a key role in recruiting and onboarding permanent leadership, facilitating a structured and successful transition once operations are stabilized. Following a comprehensive handoff, the Director is redeployed to the next assigned DeNovo project.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Health Administration, Nursing, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of two (4) years progressive leadership experience in hospice, home health, or community-based care operations.Experience launching new site or programs strongly preferred.CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: if applicable, current State License as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical NurseStrong operational and finanical acumen, including P&L responsibility.Deep understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, hospice regulations, accreditation standards and industry trends.Proven ability to lead teams through change and develop emerging leaders.Proficiency in enterprise healthcare platforms.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.Demonstrated interpersonal, written, verbal and management skills.TRAVEL: within assigned territory, 80-90%.
