Travel Ordering Processing Support Specialist

The Travel Ordering Processing Support Specialist provides advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex travel-related issues within the MARCENT AC/S G-8 section. This role ensures compliance with DoD Joint Travel Regulations, supports financial and administrative personnel, and streamlines travel processing to enhance operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide Tier II technical and procedural support for DTS users, resolving complex travel authorization, voucher processing, routing errors, and reimbursement discrepancies.Interpret and apply DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) to ensure compliance and accuracy in travel-related matters.Collaborate with finance offices, budget analysts, and administrative personnel to resolve funding and travel pay issues.Oversee the records management program, ensuring compliance with policy and adherence to Inspecting General and MCAAT checklists.Assist with the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) program as an Assistant APC.Process 450 to 2,800 travel claims per month, ensuring timely and accurate settlement from initiation to finalization.

Basic Qualifications

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.High School Diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience. A degree (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters) may be substituted for some years of experience.5+ years’ experience with Marine Corps administrative and financial systems, regulations, and procedures.Comprehensive understanding of federal and DoD travel policies, processes, and systems (e.g., Defense Travel System (DTS), Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI)) for global travel operations.Proficiency in Windows software suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision.Strong organizational and deadline management skills.Effective communicator with experience in cross-departmental coordination and engagement with senior staff members.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.Additional experience in Marine Corps administration.Familiarity with Microsoft Access and advanced Excel functions.Prior experience supporting Inspecting General’s Inspection or working as DTA, NDEA, AO, or in a DoD travel office.
