Travel Building Assessor
Job Title: Building AssessorJob Description

We are seeking motivated professionals to join our dynamic Facilities Planning team as Building Assessors. With a focus on delivering valuable data and insights, you will support University projects across the country, conducting facility assessments and evaluations of building systems. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely when not in the field and requires travel up to 50% of the time.

ResponsibilitiesReview documentation during inspections, including drawings, blueprints, and maintenance logs.Conduct building system inspections through visual evaluation of HVAC and MEP systems.Collaborate with facility management to gather full information.Utilize iPads to document findings during inspections.Create estimates for identified replacements of parts or components.Ensure accurate documentation of findings when not in the field.Collaborate with partners to maintain consistent documentation.Use VFA software for developing cost estimates and documenting findings.Perform visual inspections of facilities, including sustainability evaluations.
Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Facility/Construction Management.Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility assessment, inspection, operations, design, construction, or facility/property management.Specialization in mechanical, electrical, or architectural inspections and assessments.Knowledge of building codes and standards for existing buildings.Experience conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and mobile devices.Physical ability to inspect large complexes, climb ladders, and stairs.Willingness to travel upwards of 50% nationally and occasionally internationally.
Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical certifications, professional registrations, and government clearance are a plus.Multi-discipline knowledge in architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing), electrical, and/or site utilities is advantageous.
Work Environment

This position involves frequent national travel, with travel expenses covered. Work will generally alternate between one week in the field and one week working remotely from home. This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
