Trauma Registrar Coordinator

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The incumbent prioritizes and coordinates the activities for the Trauma Registry in order to meet schedules and deadlines, and maintains current and accurate procedures and practices. Performs a variety of data collection activities from direct chart abstraction and enters into a comprehensive computerized data management system. Incumbent acts as a liaison/facilitator with the Trauma Program Manager, Medical Director and QI Coordinator to provide reports on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. Collects Trauma data for injury research and prevention, as well as quality improvement tracking. Assures accuracy and confidentiality in the handling of all Trauma Registry related matters and is concerned with and active in the improvement of Trauma Program within the facility.


Job Requirements

Required

High School Graduate, upon hireHigh School GED, upon hireExperience with abstracting, entering,analyzing and maintaining TraumaRegistry database in compliance withstate regulations and certificationrequirements. Experience using traumascaling and scoring tools. Abstractingdata from electronic medical recordsOne year of experience as a TraumaRegistrar (Exception: Applicants withoutthe requisite experience may beconsidered when management is able tosupport a trainee).
