**Schedule** PRN: Evening, 12noon to 1030pm 4 or 8 hour shifts Monday thru Friday every other weekend 8hour shifts Saturday and Sunday every 3rd holiday 8hour shifts **General Summary** Performs activities related to transportation of patients. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting patients. Provides messenger services on request **Essential Functions:** + Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed. + Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts. + Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. **Common Expectations:** + Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. + Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings. + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. + Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation. **Qualifications** **Minimum Education:** + High School Diploma or GED Required **Work Experience:** + Less than 1 year Relevant experience.
