HDR has an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced professional to serve in a leadership position as Senior Project Quality Manager in HDR’s Mid-Atlantic Transportation Business Group. The Senior Project Quality Manager will serve as member of project team that assists in the development and maintenance of project-specific Quality Management Plans and works in close cooperation with the Program/Project Manager and discipline leads for monitoring and oversight of project quality activities. In the role of a Transportation Project Quality Manager, we'll count on you to:Primary ResponsibilitiesMonitor QM needs for Area projects/programsWork with Program/Project Managers to assess and incorporate lessons learned and client feedback from project reviews and client meetingsReport production risk areas to the Program/Project Manager and Regional Quality DirectorProvide internal and external project reporting on quality-related activities, issues, and corrective actionsVerify adequacy of project quality activitiesEstablish project quality processes and monitor implementation and effectiveness of those processesMonitor implementation of company standards and practices as appropriateEffectively implement and use company, client or regulatory document management expectationsManage quality schedule, and ensure coordination between design discipline reviewsManage quality review and comment resolution process (schedule meetings with reviewers, negotiate mutually acceptable resolutions, escalate disputed issues, and track open comments to closure)Assist in identifying and documenting issues that may cause, or contribute to, deviations from planned/expected outcomes and develop corrective action plans to address issuesOversee subconsultant quality activities and deliverable review; audit subconsultant quality activities as appropriateSupport project conformance reviews in accordance with company QMSSupport training of project/program staff on project QMP/PMP requirementsVerify that project teams have team members with right experience and capabilityLead QA/QC-related discussions during project team meetingsManagement of the quality efforts for a multi-disciplinary team with subconsultants contributing significantly to the overall design packageManagement of a metric-driven quality program with significant, formal client involvement and project auditingSupport typical for projects with construction value generally in the range of $50M to $500MParticipate as a member of the Area Business Group Leadership TeamBe committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values

May be requested to develop and manage an independent QMS for JV or mega-projectsPlan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects, programs, or tasksManage and coordinate several projects concurrentlyServe as a PIC, Project Sponsor, Client Manager for select projects and clientsPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related fieldCertification to applicable country quality management professional certification (e.g., ASQ CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE)Experience with Transportation Clients based in the Mid-Atlantic Market, such as VDOT, DDOT, WMATA, MDOT, etc.Quality management professional certification (e.g., ASQ CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE)Ability to interact with various design teamsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned cultureRequired QualificationsProfessional Bachelor's degree A minimum of 10 years in similar consulting industry and at least 8 years in specific technical area covered Deep understanding of QMS fundamentals Proven skills in the areas of Project Management and/or Quality Management projects Strong verbal and written communication with investigative interview experience and project QM software systems
