Transportation Planning Analyst
Job Title: Transportation Planning Analyst Job Description This position plays a pivotal role in regional distribution and transportation. You will work directly with business leaders, drayage providers, and air, ocean, and ground carriers to ensure successful execution of inbound and outbound tendering, rating, and completion of freight processes. Responsibilities include contributing to drayage, transloading, carrier set up, and analyzing operational rating issues. Responsibilities + Develop and manage domestic transportation routing guides to meet customer needs through our transportation management system and manual processes. + Support and lead ad hoc RFPs to support new capacity needs. + Assist in developing and executing procurement strategies with drayage, transload, TL, LTL, and parcel carriers to optimize financial and service benefits. + Lead deliveries for drayage/transload including tracking air and ocean ports, leveraging rail and trucking, and container devanning/consolidation. + Track air delivery, import, and air carrier delivery performance reporting. + Utilize Transportation Management tools like GTNexus for air and ocean performance and delivery traceability. + Provide input to strategic decisions affecting costs, performance, quality, timeliness, and completeness. + Lead operations/logistics planning and execution activities, including communication with carriers and key stakeholders. + Provide transportation expertise on new initiatives and continuous improvement. + Manage multiple projects and deliverables in a timely manner. + Support and analyze North America and Global RFP across complex networks. + Coordinate with production facility and logistics provider to ensure coverage on loads moving to distribution centers. + Assist in developing, maintaining, and evaluating carrier relationships with Truckload, LTL, drayage, ocean, and air companies. + Manage the regional inbound delivery of international shipments. + Manage and monitor performance metrics/reporting and assess/review performance. + Track and report freight costs and maintain transportation KPIs. + Ensure compliance and best practices are utilized. + Complete other duties and special projects as assigned. Essential Skills + Three years of transportation/logistics experience with both import and export. + Transportation experience with ocean and land. + Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables. + Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS). + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently and drive third-party carriers on quality, performance, and cost. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required. Work Environment This role is 100% remote, offering flexibility in your work location. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Earth City, Missouri. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
