Job Description:
RaganSmith is seeking a full-time, entry level Transportation Engineers-in-Training based in our Nashville office. This position will assist in plan production, project design, traffic studies, and site visits on a wide range of transportation projects with public clients. The Transportation Engineer-in-Training I will collaborate with other transportation team members, land surveyors, environmental engineers, and landscape architects to assist our clients in developing transportation related projects.
Responsibilities
Assist in transportation design plan production, studies, and analyses through project software
Horizontal and vertical geometric design
Stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control design
Prepare traffic engineering and transportation planning studies with oversight from management
Execute transportation design plans to TDOT, AASHTO, and/or other relevant design criteria including horizontal and vertical geometric design
Stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control and work zone traffic control design
Perform multi-department coordination for project completion
Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables
Additional related duties as needed
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
1-3+ years of engineering experience with recent experience in transportation or traffic engineering
Tennessee EI Registration preferred
Understanding of standard and common traffic analysis methodology and procedures
Familiarity with development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies
Previous exposure to MicroStation, GEOPAK, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ability to work on multiple projects
Strong communication and attention to detail
