**Job Description:**
We are seeking a skilled Engineer with experience developing PS&E packages and delivering multimodal transportation and complete streets projects. The ideal candidate brings advanced technical design capabilities, strong cross-disciplinary coordination skills, and the ability to translate planning concepts into fully buildable construction documents.
Key Responsibilities
*Produce complete PS&E / construction drawing packages, including:
Plan, profile, typical sections, and detail sheets
Utility coordination drawings
Signing & striping plans, ADA ramp details, staging/traffic control plans
*Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D at an advanced level, including:
Surfaces, corridors, alignments, pipe networks, grading objects
*Efficient model-based design workflows and sheet set management
*Develop detailed engineer’s cost estimates (OPCC and PS&E-level) and project technical specifications
*Apply and adapt to state DOT and municipal design standards; ability to quickly learn new agency requirements
*Work independently with minimal oversight while coordinating effectively across disciplines
*Support projects throughout design development, QA/QC reviews, and agency approval cycles
*Communicate clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders including planners, architects, utility owners, and public agencies
*Deliver multimodal corridor and complete streets projects featuring:
Bicycle facilities (protected lanes, SUPs, buffered lanes)
Pedestrian improvements (sidewalks, curb extensions, crossings)
Streetscape elements (medians, street trees, furnishings, lighting coordination)
*Apply context-sensitive design principles across urban and suburban corridors
*Work with and interpret AASHTO, NACTO, and local complete streets guidelines
*Balance multimodal needs—vehicular, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle—within constrained ROW conditions
*Incorporate traffic calming strategies, curb management concepts, and multimodal safety improvements
*Coordinate civil engineering design with planning, landscape architecture, and urban design teams
*Translate conceptual planning-level ideas into constructible engineering documents

**Minimum Qualifications:**
*Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline
*Professional engineering (PE) license
*7 years of related experience
*Domestic and/or international travel may be required
*The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands
*Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
**Preferred Qualifications:**
*Experience producing complete PS&E / construction drawing packages
*Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including:
Surfaces, corridors, alignments, pipe networks, grading objects
*Efficient model-based plan production and sheet set management
*Experience developing engineer’s cost estimates (OPCC, PS&E level) and technical specifications.
*Familiarity with state DOT and municipal design standards, with ability to quickly adapt to new agency criteria.
Experience supporting projects through design development, QA/QC, and agency review cycles.
Experience delivering complete streets and multimodal corridor projects, including:
Bicycle facilities (protected bike lanes, shared-use paths, buffered lanes)
Pedestrian infrastructure (sidewalks, curb extensions, crossings)
Streetscape elements (medians, trees, furnishings, lighting coordination)
*Experience balancing vehicular, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle needs within constrained rights-of-way.
*Knowledge of traffic calming measures, curb management, and multimodal safety improvements
*Experience coordinating civil design with planning, landscape architecture, and urban design teams
*Ability to translate planning-level concepts into buildable construction documents
