Position Summary:  Penske Logistics is looking for Transportation Coordinators. The candidate will process customer transport orders; plan & optimize shipments into loads using Transportation Manager System computer programs; tender freight to third-party carriers; update Transportation Manager System with current shipment information; and respond to internal & external customer inquiries. This position includes heavy customer interaction.    Major Responsibilities:   Job requirements may include: -Use computer to enter records -Communicate with associates from other shifts -Complete daily logs -Identify cost savings opportunities for the customer -Track shipments to ensure shipment deadlines are met. -Work with suppliers to correct part/shipment issues -Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications:-Must have excellent communication, organizational & PC skills (including Microsoft Office products)-Attention to detail & accuracy-Ability to learn quickly-Transportation knowledge or experience preferred-Bachelors degree preferred-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
