Job Summary Job Summary

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the school’s transportation services, including daily home-to-school operations, athletic and field trip transportation, vehicle scheduling and dispatch, fleet management, and regulatory compliance. The Coordinator also ensures timely and professional communication with families, maintains meticulous records, and provides coverage as a driver when needed. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and responsive transportation that supports the needs of students, families, and the broader Professional Community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Transportation Operations • Coordinate daily home-to-school routes, field trips, and athletic transportation schedules. • Manage the dispatch process and ensure drivers receive timely route assignments and trip details. • Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, adjusting schedules and resolving conflicts as needed. • Serve as primary point of contact for parent inquiries related to transportation; respond promptly and professionally. Fleet Oversight • Maintain the school’s fleet of buses, and vans ensuring all vehicles are inspected regularly, maintained in safe operating condition, and compliant with CHP and DMV regulations. • Schedule and track regular service appointments, repairs, and annual inspections. • Maintain accurate records for each vehicle including maintenance history, mileage logs, fuel usage, and incident reports. Compliance and Safety • Ensure full compliance with all California school transportation laws and regulations, including Title 13, Ed Code §39831.3, §39831.5, and CHP/DMV oversight. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of school bus driver training mandates and ensure driver files (e.g., medicals, training logs, certifications) are current. • Coordinate and document all mandatory safety drills (e.g., emergency evacuation) in accordance with state requirements. • Assist with compliance efforts for the

QUALIFICATIONS: Required • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Minimum 3 years of experience in school or commercial transportation coordination preferred. • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. • Strong technology skills, including proficiency in routing software, spreadsheets, and communication platforms. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, DOJ background check, and DOT medical exam. • Working knowledge of California school transportation regulations, including Title 13 and Ed Code §§ 39831.3, 39831.5. Preferred • Strong technology skills, including proficiency in routing software, spreadsheets, and communication platforms. • Prior experience managing daily home-to-school transportation, athletic travel, and field trips in a school setting. • Experience as a certified bus driver is preferred but not required. A willingness to provide driving coverage during peak periods is a plus. • Familiarity with DMV Pull Notice Program and CHP/DMV compliance protocols. • Experience managing a school transportation fleet. This position also requires the ability to operate vehicles, ride golf carts as needed, and respond to emergencies involving transportation or student safety. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support special events and athletics.
