Transportation Clerk - Night Shift
The Transportation Clerk supports the daily transportation operations by coordinating shipment documentation, appointment scheduling, and communication between drivers, customer's and internal teams. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, timely updates, and smooth execution of freight movement in and out of the facility. Responsible for the daily/weekly maintaining of pallet tracking (where applicable), audit of driver logs and trip reports, log and driver file DOT requirements tracking. Liaison for internal customer support. Track all return goods as directed by the customer for close out of returns from the private fleet. **Pay** : $21.00/hr **Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 5pm - 3am **Major Responsibilities:** + Control the flow of work within the facility to meet receiving and shipping departure times + Schedule routes and dispatch drivers timely and efficiently + Assist with daily/weekly customer and operational reports + Audit of logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting, maintain of files, customer interaction, resolution of driver equipment requests and pallet tracking. + Maintenance and distribution of route books, daily interface with drivers, assist with driver coverage of vacation and overflow freight + Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements + Partner with Safety team as required by location + Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential + Meet customer expectations and operational goals + Regular Yard walks and trailer checks + Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor **Additional Benefits:** + Paid Time Off + Medical Insurance + Dental Insurance + Vision Insurance + Life Insurance + 401K + Associate Referral Program **Qualifications:** + 2 years of general office experience required + 1 year of customer service experience required + High School diploma or equivalent required + Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required + Experience with drivers/BOLs/Document handling preferred + Experience with daily scheduling of loads preferred + Must be able to multi-task in a high paced environment while being detail oriented + Must be able to prioritize and adjust to immediate workload requirements + Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job + Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening. **Physical Requirements:** -The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
