DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

\n\nSupporting the Transport Manager in providing a fully compliant operation, operational expertise, ensuring the transport operation is efficiently run within the agreed cost perimeters and ensuring a first class service is maintained to achieve the contracts objectives and meet the customers demands.\nAchievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives and remaining compliant\nTo Manage, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development.\nMonitor performance, timekeeping, overtime and sickness levels of forty drivers and two clerical staff\nAnalyse reports against KPI targets and advise on action to improve results\nEnsure Management of driver's tachographs and working time directive are compliant to legislative requirements\n\n

\n\nPrevious and practical experience as a Transport Manager within a logistics environment\nCPC essential.\nComputer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages including Tachomaster and Microlaise\nExcellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, organise and train direct reports\nFlexibility to work shift patterns\nEnsures that day-to-day operational activities are inline with customers specifications\nA recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received\n\n
