Job Description We are looking for candidates w/ a variety of transport experience ranging from standard backhaul to rehomes. We are seeking a skilled Transport Engineer with hands-on experience in rehoming activities — migrating sites between routers, performing VLAN flips, and updating router configurations. This role is critical to ensuring seamless transitions and minimal service disruption during network topology changes. We are looking for a Transport Engineer to support our backhaul infrastructure. This role involves provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining backhaul circuits, with a focus on reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities: • Execute site rehomes by migrating traffic from one router to another. • Perform VLAN flips and update routing configurations across edge and aggregation routers. • Collaborate with planning and operations teams to schedule and validate rehome activities. • Maintain documentation of rehome procedures and rollback plans. • Troubleshoot routing and VLAN issues during and after migrations. Ensure compliance with network security and change management policies. Key Responsibilities: • Provision and troubleshoot backhaul circuits across metro and long-haul networks. • Work with IP aggregation routers, CSR, and edge devices to ensure optimal routing. • Monitor circuit performance and coordinate with vendors for issue resolution. • Support NNI turn-ups and cluster expansions. Maintain accurate records of circuit inventory and topology. Skills and Requirements Required Skills: • Strong understanding of IP routing, VLANs, and MPLS. • Experience with CSR, edge routers, and IP aggregation platforms. • Familiarity with NNI handoffs and backhaul circuit design. • Proficiency in router configuration (Cisco, Juniper, or similar). Ability to interpret network diagrams and configuration templates. Required Skills: • Solid understanding of backhaul architecture and transport technologies. • Familiarity with IP aggregation routers, CSR, and NNI configurations. • Experience with circuit provisioning and vendor coordination. • Basic knowledge of VLANs and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
