About the role
The Transport coordinator (local SPOC) serves as the critical link between the GBS transport planning and the operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless communication and coordination, facilitating efficient transportation operations, and supporting the achievement of business objectives.
Key responsibilities include
+ Act as the primary contact for on-site questions and items regarding transportation and logistics.
+ Serve as the main liaison between the planning team and the operations team.
+ Coordinate and lead all on-site movements (inbound & outbound), ensuring they adhere to BC standards.
+ Align transport availability with order coordination, considering budget and factory capacity.
+ Be the local advocate of the GBS transport control tower, collaborating closely with GBS operations on site-related topics.
+ Facilitate regular meetings and updates to align planning and operations teams on goals and activities.
+ Assist the planning team in developing transportation schedules, routes, and resource allocation.
+ Provide operational insights to the planning team to improve accuracy and feasibility.
+ Monitor daily transportation operations to ensure adherence to the plan.
+ Identify and resolve issues that may disrupt the transportation schedule.
+ Support the factory in finding solutions to avoid production stoppages.
+ Manage external liquid/buffer stocks.
+ Contact transport companies to place transport orders and track and trace performance of service providers.
+ Participate in regular performance calls and meetings with carriers and the GBS control tower to increase performance and address issues.
+ Provide information for the annual tender and validate claim and complaint management.
+ Improve processes between the factory and external transport providers, focusing on service and costs.
+ Monitor existing KPIs and develop new KPIs.
+ Coordinate the gatekeeper and support the loading staff.
+ Work with production scheduling and shift leaders in case of delays or production changes.
+ Ensure compliance with on-site logistics standards, including audits, safety, improvements, and legislation.
+ Act as the intermediary for any on-site transportation-related issue or emergency.
+ Maintain a log of issues for future reference and continuous improvement.
+ Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance communication between planning and operations.
+ Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
+ Ensure transportation operations comply with company policies, regulations, and safety standards.
+ Promote a culture of safety and compliance for transport-related activities.
+ Conduct regular on-site audits and inspections to ensure adherence to standards.
+ Support handling transport damage claims and insurance surveys with the local QA department.
+ Conduct safety and hygiene inspections of transport equipment with local HSE and QA.
+ Monitor potential liquid returns.
+ Handle and archive transportation paperwork, waybills, and cleaning certificates.
+ Coordinate and monitor external storage (road tankers, containers, etc.).
About you
+ Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Strong understanding of transportation planning and operations.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across departments.
+ Perfect Dutch and English, both oral and written
+ 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, operations or a related field.
+ Basic SAP skills, Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
+ Customer orientated, flexible

+ Ability to operate in changing environment
