About the role:
To effectively and efficiently manage the 24/7 Hub Campus Control Tower operations, including the local Linehaul and Collection operations, driver / shunter groups, and Transport Control tower functions in line with the operational core values and in accordance with the principles of the Company ‘Mission Statement’. The TCT Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the central transportation activities of the business.
To motivate, coach and develop the management team to achieve excellence in all areas of the operation.The main role aim is to achieve excellence on standards of service to internal and external customers and to liaise and work with Head of Sortation Manager to ensure that KPI’s and standards are achieved as detailed in the site plan.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all central Hub Campus transport activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including vehicle licensing and drivers' hours rules. Manage and control Compliancy Team activity working in close liaison with Fleet Management and Maintenance resources to meet all internal and external audit requirements Ensuring all risk assessments, SOM’s and SOP’s are managed and controlled; implementing strategies to minimize risks associated with transportation Making sure that all drivers have the correct, up-to-date qualifications and are following safety regulations Scheduling and coordination of all resources ensuring efficient operation of the depatrtment operation to achieve KPI metrics within balanced scorecard. Communicating with internal and external customers to ensure their needs are met and addressing any issues that arise. Oversee route planning and load scheduling for collections and deliveries operated by the Campus based drivers. Liase with Commercial teams and support with onboarding of new business and service levels to existing clients. Communicate effectively with clients and responding to their requirements. Ensure all partners are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations and great service standards To oversee maintenance and development of the Yard Management System in order to effectively control all transportation activities on the Campus sites.
