Transition Coach/Counselor Location: Wantagh|Schedule: Full-Time | Status: Non-Exempt |Salary: $19.83/hour The Opportunity FCA is seeking a Residential Counselors for our emergency shelter that provides short-term housing, case management and crisis intervention to runaway and homeless youth. Responsibilities + Provide informal counseling to residents and be available for discussion of problems, goals, etc. + Supervise each resident in maintaining his or her daily responsibilities as per the Program Guidelines. + Orient new residents to the house rules and regulations. + Transport residents to school or work as needed. + Conduct assessments and intake of youth in the absence of the case manager. + Conduct fire drills and room searches as assigned. + Maintain necessary paperwork on a regular basis (petty cash, sign outs, receipts, etc.) + Assume other responsibilities as needed to ensure the effective operation of the program. Qualifications + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth + Basic computer skills with MS Office + Valid and clean driver's license Compensation FCA offers competitive compensation within a supportive culture that values growth and opportunity.
