The Network for College Success (NCS), at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, ensures college readiness and success for all students by translating research into practice and supporting leaders to organize their schools for improvement. NCS provides professional learning and support to school and district leaders and helps them focus on what matters most for high school students. NCS supports adults within and across schools to build their capacity to lead change, improve instruction, and support student transitions in and out of high school. NCS envisions high schools that continuously cultivate collaboration, powerful learning, and a culture of high achievement to ensure postsecondary success for all students.


Job Summary

Reporting to the NCS Transformation Manager, the Transformation Coach enhances the capacity of NCS partner school-based and district leaders to implement the NCS Success Teams Framework for School Improvement; implements the NCS coaching competencies to engage the levers of leadership, data, equity, and 9th grade success in coaching; supports coachees to create and sustain conditions that center student experience and progress, build adult collective efficacy, and spread and scale effective practices; is an integral member of the NCS coaching team; represents NCS externally to maintain relationships with NCS partners.

This position is grant funded. When the grant term expires, if funding continuance or additional funding isn’t identified, the position will end.

Job responsibility categories are as follows:

Specific duties are outlined below.

Responsibilities

Coaches assigned school and/or district leaders and teams toward improvement in the Success Teams Framework for School ImprovementPartners with assigned school-based and/or district leaders to set goals for on-track, student course performance, and college readiness and access; develop, implement, and progress monitor plans; implement systems for monitoring and addressing student progress and needsTranslates research and data focused on improving on-track rates, student course performance and college readiness and access into practical steps with district and school leadersKeeps timely and accurate records of coaching services provided to assigned schools and/or districtsProvides Transformation Manager with data and other information as required for reporting to NCS fundersParticipates in knowledge management routines to continue codifying effective practicesMaintains ongoing two-way communication with key partnersConducts partnership meetings with assigned schools and/or district teams to assess and calibrate partnership expectations and celebrate successesCollaborates with NCS staff to design and facilitate professional learning for NCS schools and districts as assignedRepresents NCS in UChicago and external facing presentations, meetings, and forums as assigned to cultivate relationships that advance the mission and vision of NCSSupports broader student initiativesCoordinates program initiatives, ensuring unity of focus and purpose Performs other related work as needed


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Masters degree in education

School principal or district leadership experience strongly preferred

Strong background in curriculum, instruction, and assessment

Demonstrated ability to work and cultivate relationships with diverse constituencies, including principals, teachers, and school and district staff

Successful experience coaching teacher and/or leadership teams in educational institutions/settings

Experience designing, facilitating, and refining professional learning for in-person and virtual settings

Ability to collect, organize, analyze and interpret data

Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences orally and in writing

Ability to travel; must have reliably working transportation
