Coordinates all processes, support, communication and documentation involved in transferring patients from one facility to another facility, as well as support physician consults. Transfer Coordinators also required to recognize and uphold all regulatory requirements, while simultaneously updating key stakeholders of timelines. Accurately enters all required data into EPIC database. Coordinates with Flight for Life for patient transports.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
High School Diploma/GED, requiredBachelor's Degree, preferred
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) successfully completed within 18 months of employment. Certification must be maintained while employed.One to two years of direct clinical experience in Emergency Department/Critical Care Unit (such as Critical Care Tech EMT-B etc.), or one to two years of full time direct administrative healthcare experience (such as Nursing Unit Secretary or Patient Access Representative) or one to two years Transfer Center experience.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, excellent computer skills, customer service, ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Physical Requirements-Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
