VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: TRAINING SKILLS SPECIALIST – MAINTENANCE

Reporting to the Coordinator – Compliance, the Training Skills Specialist –Maintenance, you will be responsible for delivering a structured onboarding experience that helps new employees become productive, compliant, and engaged quickly for all maintenance recruited employees. You will schedule sessions for Maintenance Department and ensure all pre boarding and refresher inductions requirements are adhered to. You will facilitate inductions, track completion of mandatory training and maintain accurate onboarding records and checklists. You will also gather feedback from new maintenance hires and managers, troubleshoot onboarding gaps, and continuously improve the onboarding process to strengthen retention, performance, and culture fit.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Develop and maintain structured onboarding plans, content, and timelines for different roles/levels for the Maintenance employees. 

Manage documentation, system access requests, schedules, and readiness tasks before starting dates.

Facilitate company orientation and coordinate Maintenance departmental onboarding, including job and area specific induction trainings. 

Ensure role-specific training, job shadowing, and 30/60/90-day plans are in place with managers. 

Maintain onboarding checklists, training records, and completion data; provide progress reports and audit-ready evidence where needed. 

Be a point of contact for onboarding questions, resolve gaps quickly, and escalate issues appropriately.

Collect feedback from new hires/managers, monitor time-to-productivity metrics, and improve onboarding materials and processes. 

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade 12 School Certificate.

Minimum Diploma in any Engineering related field.

Diploma in Teaching Methodology or equivalent training qualification.

3 years’ experience in a similar role 

Experience in Learning Management Systems will be an added advantage 

Strong communication and coaching skills.

Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced production environment.
