Job Summary
Reporting to the Training Manager, the Training Coordinator – TVP Department is responsible for developing, coordinating, and sustaining effective learning and development programs that support all levels of employees within the Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) operations.
This role serves as a champion for Learning and Development, Safety, and Quality, ensuring that all training initiatives align with ADM’s operational excellence and compliance standards.
The Training Coordinator will manage and coordinate training for both hourly and salaried colleagues, maintain compliance with governmental and company requirements, and support departmental leaders in maintaining up‑to‑date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The position plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, coaching, and colleague engagement across the TVP department.
Essential Job FunctionsDevelop, implement, and continuously improve site training programs specific to TVP operations.Create, maintain, and deliver training materials for shift personnel, including onboarding, refresher, and required Process Safety Management (PSM) training.Track, record, and report all operational training activities for the TVP department, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.Support maintenance and production teams with proficiency‑based training and conduct audits to identify skill gaps and recommend future training initiatives.Facilitate classroom and hands‑on training sessions for all site personnel, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.Coach and mentor employees at all levels to enhance technical proficiency, safety awareness, and quality performance.Collaborate with supervisors, superintendents, and department managers to schedule and prioritize training activities.Serve as a resource and advocate for Performance Excellence (PE), Lean, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.Support Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and participate as a member of relevant teams.Maintain and update SOPs, including Management of Change (MOC) documentation and operator training requirements.Promote and model a strong commitment to safety, quality, and colleague development.Maintain flexibility and availability to support a 24/7 operation.Ensure training records are properly documented and maintained in the Learning Management System (LMS).Participate in audits and inspections related to training, safety, and quality compliance.Collaborate with corporate Learning & Development, HR, and EHS teams to align local training initiatives with company‑wide programs.Job RequirementsStrong dedication to Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.Proven ability to coach and develop employees at all levels.Demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to lead cross‑functional training initiatives and work collaboratively with corporate departments.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Strong knowledge of TVP processes, equipment, and production operations.High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Education / TrainingMinimum of a high school diploma or GED required.Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, Industrial Operations, or a related field preferred.Certifications in adult learning, training design, or safety (e.g., OSHA, Train‑the‑Trainer) are a plus.ExperienceExperience with Performance Excellence, Total Process Management, Continuous Colleague Development, A2E (Ability to Execute), or similar continuous improvement systems preferred.Practical and/or educational experience in developing and delivering training programs.Prior industrial or manufacturing experience required; food processing experience preferred.Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and electronic training recordkeeping preferred.Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring employees across multiple departments.Working ConditionsMust be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, dusty, or wet environments and around chemicals safely.Ability to ascend and descend stairs and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.Ability to move or transport up to 55 pounds.Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.Must be respirator qualified and able to wear required PPE.Physical RequirementsBending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive motion may be required.Must be able to perform job duties safely in a manufacturing environment.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
