Amarr - a part of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in opening solutions - is looking for a skilled and passionate Training & Development Manager to elevate our installation training efforts. This newly created position is ideal for someone with deep experience in commercial garage door installation and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, coaching, and helping others grow.
As the Training & Development Manager, you’ll work closely with dealers, contractors, and internal teams to strengthen field knowledge and ensure the proper installation of our commercial product lines. You’ll create impactful training experiences both at our headquarters and in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging training programs for commercial product installation—both classroom-based and hands-on in the field. Travel extensively (up to 70%) to job sites across the country to conduct on-the-job training, troubleshoot installations, and support dealer teams. Customize training content and syllabi to meet specific dealer or customer needs. Serve as a technical resource and installation advisor for dealers, general contractors, architects, and engineers. Partner with sales teams to align training with strategy, schedule sessions, and help develop product knowledge. Assist R&D with feedback from the field to support product improvement and innovation. Monitor competitor products and create tactical comparisons to highlight Amarr’s competitive advantages. Support marketing communications around training availability, logistics, and costs. Represent Amarr at trade shows, seminars, and industry conferences. Participate in ongoing internal discussions around product development, installation best practices, and customer experience improvements.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial garage door installation and management. In-depth knowledge of both sectional and coiling doors, fire doors, and industry building codes (ASHRAE, IBC, etc.). Strong understanding of sales processes with general contractors, including take-offs and specifications. Proven project management, multitasking, and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with the confidence to lead training and influence diverse stakeholders. Comfortable with extended overnight travel (5–9 nights per month on average). Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required. Manual lifting may be required at times.
