**Job Description**
The Trainer-CCMS is responsible for executing a CCMS comprehensive training program for animal care and cage wash staff to assure proper handling and care of CCMS research animals under the direction of the Q.A. Education Manager/Director. The Trainer-CCMS will be responsible for performing hands on - one on one training with new hires, temporary workers, and existing employees to meet CCMS metrics. The Trainer will understand and follow all approved SOPs and Quality Assurance Standards for animal care. The Trainer will assist in developing new training methods, preparing training materials and supplies, as well as assisting in training records management. Will also be familiar with the day-to-day activities, employees, and concerns within the facilities. Forward thinking, creative and able to assist in developing plans to enhance learning abilities and staff performance.
**Qualifications**
+ ALAT Certified or B.S. with 2+ years? experience, or 5+ years? experience in Lab Animal Science.
+ 5+ years of experience in Lab Animal Science (preferred).
+ Must receive ALAT certification within one year of position.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform and document all relevant husbandry training for new and existing hires for all CCMS husbandry areas.
+ Assist in all cross-training efforts for new and existing hires.
+ Under supervision of the Q.A. Education Manager/Director, confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations, requiring technical training and to better understand changes in site SOP's, procedures, regulations, etc.
+ Assist in developing teaching aids, such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
+ Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training and refresher training, in laboratory animal techniques. Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of technical training.
+ Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods to Q.A. Education Manager/Director.
+ Provide didactic and hands-on technical training on SOPs Monitor technical methods used by employees and make on the spot corrections. Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their positions.
+ Make suggestions on improving technical procedures in the animal facilities. Maintain accurate and complete database for training records.
+ Understands and follows appropriate SOPs, GLP regulations, safety procedures, and quality assurance standards.
+ Assists in the SOP review process, including creating and revising SOPs, and ensuring all SOPs are reviewed annually.
+ Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

**Compensation Statement**
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $81675 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
