Trainee Surety Broker

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Surety team at Marsh. This role will be based in London and is a hybrid position, with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Marsh Surety is a global business with more than 320 employees making it the largest Surety broker in the world. The business serves all aspects of the Surety Broking market for a wide range of corporate clients. Surety is highly specialised area of the insurance market providing protection against default by a corporate of its financial and/or performance related obligations. Surety bond facilities are generally managed at a senior level within a corporates’ Treasury / Finance team (i.e. Group Treasurer or CFO) and can form an integral part of their working capital and financing facilities.  

We are seeking an individual in the early stages their financial services career or graduates with a keen interest in finance.You will work within a small team of market leading professionals, managing all aspects of the Surety market across a broad range of industries that require bond and guarantee products including Energy, Construction, Engineering, transportation and technology.

We will rely on you to:

Process new bond requests, arranging renewals and managing day-to-day client requests and enquiries.Prepare underwriting submissions, client reports and presentations.Liaise with the bond admin team for bond wording advice, new bond requests and invoicing.Organise client and underwriting meetings as required.

What you need to have: 

Excellent organisational skills.Previous experience in financial services/insurance or a keen interest to start a career in an area of the insurance market that works in both competition and partnership with banks.A good knowledge of excel and power point.Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines is essential.Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage assertive conversations.
