This is a full time, permanent position. Shift work is required for this role. Working an 11 hour shift, 08:00 – 20:00 on a biweekly rotating shift pattern, which is: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday.
As a Trainee EM Analyst you will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality microbiology environmental monitoring services to our client.
Job Responsibilities that you be covering:
You will perform environmental monitoring within biopharmaceutical GMP manufacturing areas, maintaining high aseptic standards through strict adherence to clean‑room behaviours, gowning procedures, and accurate execution of routine sampling, incubation and analysis activities.You will carry out viable and non‑viable monitoring, including compressed‑gas analysis, routine and non‑routine testing, and second‑person verification checks, ensuring all work is completed to defined standards, within required turnaround times, and fully aligned with customer procedures.You will maintain exceptional documentation standards by completing training records, analytical data, laboratory notes and all related GMP documentation accurately, legibly and on time, ensuring all work is delivered “Right First Time” and suitable for review and approval.You will actively participate in required training, maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of methods and technological changes, support the training of junior analysts where competent, and ensure all activities meet customer, GMP and regulatory expectations.You will identify, escalate and investigate anomalous, out‑of‑trend or out‑of‑specification results, liaising with the Group Leader or customer representatives as needed and contributing to the close‑out of laboratory investigations, deviations and non‑conformances.You will support smooth laboratory operations by managing consumables, revising SOPs and documentation, resolving customer queries where appropriate, providing cover as required—including weekend or overtime rotas—and ensuring a clean, safe and compliant working environment at all times.QualificationsWhat skills, qualifications and experiences you will hold as an Trainee EM Analyst:
You will hold a degree or diploma in microbiology, chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline, providing the foundational knowledge required to operate effectively within a regulated laboratory environment.You will have experience working within a GMP pharmaceutical laboratory, bringing practical understanding of regulated workflows, compliance expectations and quality‑driven laboratory operations.You will be an organised, accurate and reliable team player, demonstrating strong documentation skills and a commitment to high‑quality scientific output.You will be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, maintaining a proactive and positive approach within a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.You will be passionate about quality and customer service, consistently striving to meet or exceed expectations while supporting the delivery of a high‑performing laboratory service.You will demonstrate strong communication skills, both internally and externally, ensuring clear, professional and timely interactions with colleagues, stakeholders and customers.Additional InformationAt Eurofins we are growing, innovating and always learning.
