About the Role:
 

As a Trainee Case Manager, you’ll be supported through hands-on training and mentoring to develop skills in managing workers’ compensation claims. You’ll act as a key contact for injured workers, employers, and healthcare providers, helping to coordinate care and facilitate return-to-work plans.

Assist in managing workers’ compensation claims from start to finishCommunicate effectively with injured workers, employers, insurers, and healthcare professionalsSupport the coordination of medical and rehabilitation servicesMaintain accurate records and documentationLearn to navigate legal and medical frameworks related to workers’ compensation

Who You Are:

Experienced in customer service, medical administration, or insurance claims, OR a recent graduate in Law, Business, Nursing, Allied Health, or PsychologyStrong communicator with excellent interpersonal skillsOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing prioritiesEager to learn and develop your career in case managementEmpathetic with a genuine interest in helping people recover and return to workSensitivity to issues related to people with medical, cultural and social needsBe an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

You will undergo 4 weeks' theoretical and practical training in workers’ compensation case management. During this time, you will learn about:

The life cycle of a claimMedical treatment types and appropriate managementPayment of medical expensesWeekly compensation entitlementsReturn to work obligations, and how to facilitate early return to work outcomesThe legal side of workers’ compensationDealing with challenging conversations

You will spend time working in team developing the below skills;

Arranging medical examinationsTaking a high volume of client and customer callsAssessing and processing payments to stakeholdersDeveloping case management strategiesReviewing and monitoring treatment requestsLiaising with stakeholders (injured workers, employers, and providers)

Further training throughout your first 12 months' will be provided to expand your knowledge of workplace injury management, return to work planning, dispute resolution and workers’ compensation law.
