The Trailing Document Specialist is responsible for the collection, review, verification, and submission of all post-closing mortgage documents required to ensure loan files are complete, compliant, and delivered on time to investors, agencies, and regulatory bodies. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of mortgage loan files, reducing exceptions, and supporting the bank’s compliance with investor, insurer, and agency guidelines
What You’ll DoTrack, collect, and organize post-closing mortgage documents (recorded mortgages, title policies, assignments, etc.).
Review documents for accuracy and compliance with investor guidelines.
Work closely with title companies, closing agents, and internal teams to resolve outstanding items.
Upload and deliver final documents to investors within required timelines.
Maintain logs, reports, and status updates to ensure timely completion of all files.
What We’re Looking ForExperience in mortgage operations, post-closing, title, or document management preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with loan systems (Encompass, Byte, or similar) is a plus.
EducationAssociate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
Fully bilingual (English & Spanish) Required.
