HDR is seeking a Traffic Design Specialist to help expand our services in the Midwest, with a focus on Kansas and Missouri. The position would report to the MO-KS Traffic Section. The position would have a major focus in the areas of traffic and ITS design.

The individual in this position plans, executes and monitors all aspects of traffic design projects that may include:

Traffic signal and interconnect plansRoadway/highway illumination plansITS, fiber, and communications plansTraffic signal corridor / system timing plansRailroad signaling plansTransit signal plansSigning and pavement-marking plansFreeway guide signing plansComplete Streets / Quick-build improvement plansElectric vehicle charging infrastructure plansPreferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technology-related field10-20 years of relevant experience with traffic and technology designAnalytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skillsPE registration (MO/KS) a plusPreference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supportedAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supportedKnowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supportedProficient with Microsoft OfficeGood verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
