Primary Duties + Conduct regular quality control checks on shipping orders, addressing any discrepancies that arise to uphold service excellence and enable continuous improvement. + Coordinate with carriers for pickups, ensuring that schedules align with business needs and customer expectations, fostering strong partnerships with transport providers. + Support the completion of logs and customer orders by verifying information and confirming details with relevant stakeholders, ensuring streamlined operations. + Maintain accurate UPS and Federal Express manifests, facilitating smooth shipping operations and essential record keeping for accountability. + Provide exceptional customer service from the initial order stage through to receipt, guaranteeing a positive experience and fostering long-term relationships. + Recommend reliable freight carriers to customers and oversee all export shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing potential issues. + Handle all paperwork related to shipping, including preparing and verifying bills of lading to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely processing. + Input vital shipping data into the AS/400 system, contributing to efficient data management and reporting, while keeping systems updated for accuracy. + Carry out routine office duties such as filing, data entry, and ordering supplies, ensuring an organized work environment conducive to productivity. + Engage with company representatives to renegotiate pricing and service levels, playing a key role in maintaining vendor relationships and enhancing service agreements. + Update and maintain the NAFTA certificate of origin for each export customer, ensuring compliance with applicable trade legislation and keeping up with changes in regulations. Qualifications + Strong analytical skills are essential to read, understand, and interpret various business documents, technical manuals, and applicable regulations effectively. + Proficient writing skills are required to prepare reports, business communications, and procedure manuals that convey clear information and meet professional standards. + Excellent presentation skills will enable you to effectively communicate information and address inquiries from managers, clients, and the public. + Competency in mathematical calculations, such as percentages, volume, and proportions, is needed to evaluate shipping costs accurately and make informed decisions. + A sound understanding of algebra and geometry enables you to apply solutions effectively in logistical scenarios, enhancing operational efficiency. + Problem-solving abilities are crucial to gather data, analyze information, and derive accurate conclusions in fast-paced environments, allowing for swift issue resolution. + The ability to interpret complex technical instructions and manage multiple variables in shipping logistics will be key to your success in this role.
