Essential Responsibilities:

Ensuring that all safety procedures and protocols are followedSetting up closures with adequate signage, barricading and cones, lane markingsSafely maintain and monitor all closuresRemoving and relocating traffic equipment as neededPerforming flagging activities to safely direct vehicles, heavy equipment and foot traffic for the safety of road users and work crews in a construction environmentCompleting daily traffic inspections and reportsSafely driving the buffer truck

Qualifications:

Previous experience in traffic control in a busy, high-traffic environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, as part of a team, and multitask within time constraintsPhysically capable of standing for long durations, moving traffic equipment and working outdoors in various weather conditionsMust pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol testValid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract

Work Conditions

This is a field-based position from May to November 2026Flexibility to work on projects throughout Alberta is requiredShift rotations involve 10–14-hour workdays, including nights and overtimeA living-out allowance of $135 per day is providedPreference is given to candidates with an RV or trailer, as a camp area with hookups is provided
