Responsibilities

Ensuring that all safety procedures and protocols are followedSetting up closures with adequate signage, barricading and cones, lane markingsSafely maintain and monitor all closuresRemoving and relocating traffic equipment as neededPerforming flagging activities to safely direct vehicles, heavy equipment and foot traffic for the safety of road users and work crews in a construction environmentCompleting daily traffic inspections and reportsSafely driving the buffer truck

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience in traffic control in a busy, high-traffic environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, as part of a team, and multitask within time constraintsPhysically capable of standing for long durations, moving traffic equipment and working outdoors in various weather conditionsMust pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol testValid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstractFlagger training certificate preferredCSTS-2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications (training provided if needed)

Work Conditions

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (evenings and weekends free)Outdoor work in all weather conditions year-roundComprehensive benefits package provided by CLAC, including extended health, dental, and prescription drug coverageCandidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region
