The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Tradesperson – Electrical – Plant Electrical                                                                 

About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor - Power & Electrical Maintenance the incumbent will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs of a large variety of equipment in the following areas, Crushing, Grinding, Flotation, Autoclaves, Oxygen plants, Refinery, Lime plant and Water Pumping Station.

In this role, you will:

Carry out tasks as directed by the Electrical Supervisor or Foreman, including but not limited to, maintenance, fault finding & repair of all electrical equipment mentioned above Conduct regular preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure reliability and operational efficiency. Installation & commissioning of electrical components and systems in compliance with electrical standards and NPL’s safety protocols. Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime. Document all maintenance activities, including work completed, materials used, and any issues identified. Collaborate with the maintenance and operations teams to ensure electrical systems meet operational demands. Uphold high standards of health and safety awareness, ensuring compliance with NPL’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all safety procedures.

About You

Have a current National Energy Authority or PNG Power Electrical license  Have Trade Qualifications compliant to NATTB Electrical Trade  Have previous maintenance experience in Mine Processing, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industry environments Be able to demonstrate a high level of safety hazard awareness using risk assessment tools such as, JHA/JSA, FLRA, Take 5 or others  Have sound knowledge & demonstrated understanding of AS/NZS electrical standards & wiring rules Have a current light vehicle driving licence Be able to work on shift

Mobilization Requirement 

This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Candidates must be PNG Nationals and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.
