New Porgera Limited has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join its Fixed Plant Maintenance Department in the role of Tradesperson – Boilermaker – Fabrication Shop.
                                                                      
 

About the role

New Porgera Limited is currently seeking a skilled qualified Boilermaker to join the Fixed Plant Maintenance Team within our Fabrication Shop.

In this role, you will contribute to high quality fabrication, welding, and maintenance work that supports safe and efficient plant operations within a world class mining environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out fabrication and welding tasks in accordance with NATTB Metal Fabrication & Welding Standards.Perform maintenance and repair works on fixed plant equipment within mining operations.Follow all safety processes including JHA/JSA, Zero Tasol, Take 5, FLRA, and risk assessments.Execute Oxy/GMAW/MMAW/ARC air gouging tasks to a high standard.Conduct TIG welding on stainless steel and super duplex alloys.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

3-5 year’s experience as a tradesman with strong fabrication and welding skills, preferably gained in the Mining or Oil & Gas sectors.Trade qualifications compliant with NATTB standards (verification required).Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance.Strong hazard awareness and a strong commitment to safe work practices.Competence in multiple welding methods including TIG on stainless steel.Valid high risk work tickets such as: Working at HeightsConfined SpaceOverhead CraneRiggingForkliftA proactive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.

 

Mobilisation Requirement

This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
