Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the world of global trade finance? We are looking for a motivated Trade Finance & Credit Officer to join our dynamic team and oversee financial security instruments for international trading activities.

Your Role & Impact

As part of our global Credit & Trade Finance team, you’ll collaborate with industry-leading professionals and manage financial counterparts across diverse markets. Your expertise will be key in ensuring seamless transactions while mitigating financial risk.

Key Responsibilities

Process letters of credit (LCs) and other financial security instruments essential to trading operations.Maintain close external relationships with banks and collaborate internally with traders, operators, lawyers, compliance teams, treasury, and financial control.Monitor daily exposure for LC counterparties and secure upcoming sales through proper collateral, including letters of credit and prepayments.Ensure compliance with Incoterms 2000 by understanding when title and risk transfer occur.Assess the feasibility of LCs according to contract terms and standards such as UCP 600/ISP 98, providing constructive feedback to counterparties.Oversee the issuance and amendment of standby/documentary letters of credit and liaise with banks for discounting arrangements.Manage quarter-end receivables discounting programs with banks, enhancing working capital and improving financial efficiency.Support trading teams in developing innovative financing structures for product sales in foreign markets.Monitor daily exposure for upcoming deals, ensuring all sales exceeding credit limits are properly secured.Foster strong relationships with traders and operators to stay ahead of evolving deals and minimize financial risk.Request and review collateral issuance (Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary LCs, prepayments), ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and UCP 600/ISP 98.Prepare and issue Letters of Credit, coordinating with banks on issuance and discounting arrangements.Oversee outstanding LCs to guarantee timely invoicing and funds receipt before expiration.Handle document preparation for documentary letters of credit, ensuring compliance and resolving discrepancies with banking institutions.Assist in Monthly Domestic Crude Netting, sending net exposure reports for approval and managing discounting operations.Review and manage payment guarantee agreements, ensuring proper documentation and bank repayments.Embrace a digital-first approach, testing and implementing new system processes to optimize trade finance operations

Education/Experience:

Finance / Accounting degree.
5-10 years’ experience in Trade Finance

Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Understanding of UCP 600, ISP 98 and Incoterms 2000. Proven ability to perform detail-oriented tasks, meet deadlines. Effective and professional communication skills with customers and all levels of personnel.
