ABOUT THE ROLE
The cocoa sector is evolving very quickly and must integrate new regulations and demands from customers and consumers.
In this context, the Traceability and Compliance Manager will be responsible for leading, coordinating and organizing all activities related to supply chain traceability, compliance with related local and international regulations (EUDR, ARSS-, monitoring of the certification process and finally, monitoring the migration to the new FARM FORCE platform.
The function will also work closely with the Sustainability and Sourcing departments.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE
Traceability
1.1. Operations
· Lead and oversee all activities and deliverables related to traceability in Côte d’Ivoire.
· Ensure all traceability commitments are met in compliance with company and industry standards.
· Monitor and track progress of government traceability systems at the country level.
· Act as the main point of contact for traceability in Côte d’Ivoire.
· Handle ad-hoc traceability data requests from internal teams coming from clients and partners.
1.2. System
· Manage and support the deployment of Farmforce and related systems.
· Contribute to data visualization and reporting for management and external stakeholders in a timely manner
· Insure Data quality and availability
· Optimize traceability systems, provide feedback to IM/IT, and collaborate with the Global Traceability Team.
1.3. People
· Manage the Côte d’Ivoire Traceability team and associated budget.
· Represent Barry Callebaut at GEPEX forums and other industry groups.
2. Compliance
2.1. European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
· Lead EUDR compliance initiatives in Côte d’Ivoire.
· Manage the EUDR team in Côte d’Ivoire, ensuring effective operations.
· Serve as the primary advisor and contact for EUDR-related activities in Africa, collaborating with the Global EUDR Team.
· Escalate and troubleshoot issues related to EUDR with senior management at both Africa and Global levels.
2.2. Norm & Certification
· Monitor and track progress of RA certification renewal process, at cocoa suppliers level
· Monitor and track progress of ARSS-1000 implementation

ABOUT YOU
Master’s degree in Agronomy, Development Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field. Project management and Business Plan experiences Perfect command in both French and EnglishFluency in French and English is mandatory.

3.3. Proficiency in data analysis and strategic decision-making.
3.4. Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences.
Travel requirements: Covering different sites across the country and/or internationally; +- 40 % time outside main workplace Others: participation in daily Plant/Team board meeting where applicable 8–10 years of experience in sustainability, traceability, or program management, with expertise in: Agronomy, agriculture, and sustainability topics. Cocoa certification schemes and local/global regulations. Field activities in rural environments. Good knowledge of sustainability regulations and EUDR helpful. Proven track record in team leadership, budgeting, and IT system optimization. Strong experience in data management, traceability, or supply chain roles, preferably in agricultural commodities. Proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with Power BI or QGIS is a plus.
