Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) is seeking a skilled Rotating Engineer to join the team for a minimum 12-month assignment, with potential extension up to 18 months. The role can sit within either the Technical Support Team (TST) or the Planning Team, based on the candidate’s skillset and preference.
This is a Perth-based position with periodic travel to site, providing a strong platform to further develop your production engineering and planning expertise within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:If assigned to the Technical Support Team (TST):
Lead complex OPEX and CAPEX modifications to mitigate safety, environmental, and financial risks (reduce to ALARP).
Provide engineering support in HAZOP, LOPA, ART forums, and incident investigations.
Manage third-party service providers for multi-disciplinary scopes—define scope, monitor budget, conduct assurance reviews, and track schedule.
Support frontline engineering teams during leave coverage and turnarounds.
Assist planning engineering teams by reviewing strategies, updating procedures, and responding to queries.
If assigned to the Planning Team:
Select and scope rotating equipment work for maintenance campaigns and contribute to strategy optimisation.
Provide engineering input for MOCs, STC workpacks, and Capex projects including PSRA remediation.
Screen maintenance notifications and manage Safety & Environmental Critical Elements (WM1040PF9809289).
Support incident investigations (WM0000PG9905421) and implement lessons learned.
Provide backfill engineering support for frontline/execution teams as required.
Required Skills & Experience:Degree-qualified in Rotating Equipment Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Demonstrated competency achievement per ENG standard (WM0000PG10109352).
PSM Knowledge Level Competency (WM0000PG10588246) achieved or attainable.
Solid understanding of risk assessment and Management of Change (MOC).
Experience managing technical work scopes across rotating assets.
Ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic operational setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Additional Notes:The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the readiness and executability of rotating maintenance campaigns at KGP.
Candidates should be comfortable working in both office-based and site-based environments.
