Responsibilities

Who are you?

 

The TPA funding manager is responsible for managing the funding, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes for client accounts. This role will ensure accurate and timely funding of claims and all financial obligations related to employee benefits. The TPA funding manager will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders as well as financial institutions to maintain compliance and deliver exceptional service. This position is hands on to support the North accounting operations funding team and will organize, delegate, and ensure departmental KPI’s are being met.

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

Issue resolution and management of group inboxesProblem solving internal and external inquiries and escalations. Work closely with account managers, claims processors, etc.Reconcile and audit large sets of data across various financial systems, TPA systems and third-party reportsReview Positive pay files across many bank accountsManage the funding process for client accounts including collecting premiums and paying various carriers, vendors and providersIdentify and mitigate financial risks related to underfunding, overfunding, or errors in account managementEnsure reports are delivered timely and accurately to clients BankingMaintain financial institution relationshipsManage wire transfers, ACH’s, checks and ensure proper controls are in placeWork with third party payment processorsAssist other departments in resolution of client / vendor issuesSupervision, training and development of employeesUnderstand and document process and controls, systems, workflows, etc.Identify and implement improvements to funding processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy and client satisfaction

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.3 to 5 years’ experience in financial management with a focus on funding and accounting.Previous banking and health insurance industry experience preferred

Ability to take direction and work effectively with leadershipProficient in MS applicationsIntermediate or advanced excel skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentProficient in financial and TPA systems. Netsuite, Qiclink, Javelina experience preferred.Self-starter problem solverStrong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually. Note that compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 10% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
