Job DescriptionThe Role:
The Toys & Hardlines SME is a specialist technical and operations role, focused on supporting UK manufacturers and retailers in navigating, compliance and regulatory requirements across toy and hardlines products. Acting as a key liaison between Eurofins BLC clients and our Asia-based laboratories, this role ensures testing programmes are efficiently subcontracted, delivered to the highest standard, and communicated clearly to clients.
The successful candidate will combine technical expertise in toy safety with strong commercial acumen, ensuring clients receive accurate, reliable, and actionable information to maintain compliance and market access. This is a client-facing role requiring both technical confidence and strong relationship management skills within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector.
Main duties:
1. Client & Technical Support
Act as a primary contact for UK manufacturers and retailers, supporting them in understanding safety regulations and compliance requirements.Provide expert guidance on relevant standards, labelling, regulatory changes, and best practice in testing and certification. Review and interpret test reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and clear client communication.2. Laboratory & Testing Coordination
Liaise with Eurofins Asia laboratories to identify suitable facilities for subcontracting toy testing projects.Ensure test programmes are delivered on time, to scope, and within agreed commercial terms.Act as the technical checkpoint between laboratory output and client-facing reports.3. Commercial & Relationship Management
Support commercial teams in developing strong client partnerships, ensuring repeat business and trusted advisory relationships.Translate technical outputs into commercially relevant advice for clients.Contribute to the identification of new opportunities for Eurofins BLC within the toys and hardlines sector.4. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Development
Stay abreast of developments in toy and hardlines safety standards, regulations, and testing technologies.Share knowledge internally to support broader team capability in the toys sector.Identify opportunities for process and service improvements in the toys testing supply chain.QualificationsWhat We Are Looking For:
