Summary: Seeking a Tool Maker to support manufacturing and engineering by producing precision components, fixtures, and tools.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the trade as a tool maker
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Proficiency in trigonometry
Working knowledge of computers
Understanding of chip formation and metal cutting mechanics
Knowledge of ANSI/EIA RS–274 (“G” code NC programs)
Experience or formal education in design/drafting with CAD emphasis
Must be a U.S. person under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)
Residence within reasonable commuting distance
Preferred Skills:
Associate degree in a technical field
Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing and engineering departments by producing production and prototype components, fixtures, and tools
Machine complex tooling and fixtures in collaboration with Manufacturing and Design Engineering
Perform secondary operations on production units using manual multi-axis mills, lathes, drill presses, shears, and saws
Set up and operate manual machine shop equipment, including surface grinders
Work from drawings, prints, and work instructions to complete tasks accurately
Develop, fabricate, and sharpen cutting and specialty tools
Inspect GD&T features using basic and advanced inspection techniques
Cut open welded units to complete production operations
Assist shop management in training employees on machine shop practices and processes
Pay Details: $26.00 to $34.00 per hour
