Responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining dies, tools, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
Requirements
Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings
In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses
Experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers, drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines
Ability to measure, mark, cut, and shape metal stock to specified dimensions
Strong troubleshooting skills
Preferred Skills
Experience working with a range of materials including metals, fiberglass, and thermal plastics
Familiarity with jig and template design for fabrication support
Knowledge of visualization and computation of metal shapes and tolerances
Responsibilities
Fabricate and repair dies, metal tools, and related components for manufacturing
Cut, shape, and assemble tooling parts according to specifications
File, grind, shim, and finish metal surfaces for precision and smoothness
Fit and assemble die parts and inspect finished tools for defects or deformities
Develop and maintain jigs, templates, and work aids to support tooling fabrication
Conduct quality inspections on completed tools and dies to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications
Pay Details: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour
