Tooling Technician
**Job Title: Tooling Technician - 2nd Shift** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Tooling Technician for our 2nd shift opening. The primary purpose of this role is to lead tooling maintenance, including repair, maintaining injection molds, and troubleshooting molds in the press. **Responsibilities** + Demonstrate problem-solving skills in a continuous improvement environment. + Ensure compliance with health and safety objectives and directives to maintain a safe and healthful workplace. + Perform work on molds in press and handle mold electrical systems. + Follow plant-wide goals and monitor, track, and audit performance standards. + Maintain ergonomic standards during tasks and keep records of work performed. + Perform preventive maintenance on molds, operate cranes, and troubleshoot tooling and molding issues. + Learn and perform repairs to molds within the capabilities of the tool room. + Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on injection molds, replacing parts as necessary. + Adhere to the Lock Out/Tag Out Program. + Learn to operate tooling machines such as Bridgeport, lathe, and surface grinder. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Problem-solving skills in a continuous improvement environment. + Ability to perform work on molds in press and familiarity with mold electrical systems. + Experience in preventive maintenance on molds and crane operations. + Troubleshooting of tooling and molding issues. + Capability to repair molds within the tool room's capacity. + Knowledge of tooling machines such as Bridgeport, lathe, and surface grinder. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Some knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and cooling systems. + Knowledge of manifold systems is preferred. + Ability to read and modify blueprints. + Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. + Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft software and Excel on tablets. + Familiarity with electrical systems on molds is a plus. **Why Work Here?** Join a union facility offering great benefits, including a 401K match after six months. The technician will mainly interact with PM and manufacturing personnel. The plant operates five plastic injection machines with frequent tool changes and is expanding with a new line for Chrysler. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Warren, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
