Tooling Specialist

Job Description:

The Tooling Specialist is based at our Seats Automotive manufacturing facility in Lakeville, Connecticut. As a key member of the Production team, the Tooling Specialist’s primary responsibilities include design, repair, construct, modify, perform and manage maintenance on the tools as needed for specific manufacturing equipment and machines and providing support to engineering and production as it relates to tooling.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  May include some of the following:

Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment always.Devise special mechanisms to meet or obtain specific requirements, End of Arm Tooling. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.Troubleshoot and repair a variety of intricate tools.Perform skilled bench work - fitting, assembling, adjusting, and repairing production equipment and tooling.Make tool tryouts and detect and correct problems. Work with Supervisors and Managers to maintain production.  Work with Engineering to update tool CAD.Properly fill out all paperwork, including tooling PM sheets, process adjustment logs, etc.Perform other duties as assigned or instructed.Involvement and input in new tool design review.Monitor tool PM frequency/maintenance and adjust when necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

5+ years’ experience in mold repair preferred.Hot manifold knowledge highly recommended.Knowledge of the following equipment: Lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, EDM machine, Bridgeport, power saws, hydraulic and manual arbor and all other toolroom equipment and practices.Ability work from SolidWorks CAD, read blueprints, engineering sketches, specification sheets, samples, and verbal instructions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PP, & Word)Experience working with injection mold construction and repairs.Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Self-managed individual with strong decision-making skills.

Compensation Information:

Starting $30-$40/hour
